ABILITY Corps Scholar Fellowship

ABILITY Corps Scholar Fellowship (ACSF) aims at collaborating with U.S. higher education institutions to advance our mission – creating a world of inclusion and awareness for people with disabilities through art, media, housing, employment, and volunteer opportunities.

To this end, ACSF program supports qualified junior scholars in researching digital technology, new media and disabilities, including:

  • Disability language in new media
  • Digital technology and new media used by people with disabilities
  • Online community engagement
  • Disability engagement in digital entrepreneurship and employment
  • Structural inequality and barriers that are reinforced by the mainstream job market and /or by people with disabilities themselves

Key Qualifications

  • PhD with one or more focus areas in media and communication, linguistics, anthropology, or sociology
  • Experience in bridging industry needs and academic research
  • Demonstrated track record of translating research into actionable solutions for industry use
  • Experience in working with non-profit organizations
  • Strong publication record demonstrating innovative research
  • Good presentation and writing skills
  • Be able to deliver results aligned with the values of ABILITY Corps, ensuring the high standards of quality, scientific rigor, innovation, and respect for user privacy
  • Experience working in the disability domain is a plus
